In streams a hairs ear nymph, san juan worm or a black wooly bugger. Top on the list is the hairs ear though it seems to work most part of the year. Dry fly would be parachute adams black ant or a royal coachman.

any flies that are made from phesant feathers are the ones that work for me in streams and rivers but in lakes i would use black trout flies for bass and for trout i like to use nymph flies and fish by the docks.
