I have fished Northern Pike and had great success with large spoons. I have never seen Musky articles or Musky Pros mention using spoons. Is a spoon in largest size a poor Musky lure?

Spoons will catch muskie, just not as popular as some other styles of baits.

You can catch any predatory fish with a spoon - whether or not it is the best option though is a different question.

Musky are more particular than northerns. They may want a jerk bait one day or a bucktail the next. You may turn a musky 2 or three times before he strikes. Northerns may feed in schools sometimes and will hit anything. Muskies are loners!
