This is a serious problem. I have contacted Fish and Game Ky. to offer tournaments, lotteries and free fishing permits to catch the Asian Carp, but unless someone has a handle on the bait the game is over. It seems that net and bow & arrow are the big winners so far. I have shot a lot of fish with a bow & arrow but not everyone can participate. Unless we can come up with a fun successfull way to catch them and a clean way to dispose of them, they will continue to ruin our lakes. My first thoughts are cat food and ferterlizer. Please help!!!!

They love mullberrys so I would think any wild berry would work.

It's a dang shame they won't bite a baited hook. As prolific as they are, they'd make fine game fish and we'd have a way of keeping their numbers down.

I caught an Asian Big Head Carp that ended up weighing 47 pounds while I was fishing an eddy for bluegills with a piece of night crawler. I’m sure it was just dumb luck and I hooked him he was swimming along with his maw wide open. They are definitely filter feeders and I don’t know of anything they’ll eat that we could put on a hook. The best smoking fish I’ve ever caught though.

Regarding ways to fish for Asian carp, Has anyone used dough balls or catfish globs that are sold at walmarts? how about chunks of hot dogs? All beef or some other? What about steelhead and/or salmon skein? they HAVE to like something other than plankton, don't they? Has anyone come up with a "plankton pellet or ball?"
