Has anyone seen any kind of an article about how air temperature affects fish after the lakes are frozen over? I know the weather section here usually shows a 40 for temp, but it never seems to change. Does the air temp matter during ice season?

Thanks. That is what I figured and would explain why the chart never really changes for the temp. However JM, This year, I've been experiencing a better bite on sunny days than when it is overcast. Went out yesterday, snowing overcast all day and saw three walleyes on my camera, (one was a dandy) but could not get them to bite. My dad did manage to get one small one though.

BHV: I think you should look into what DSM is saying. I know I've read a few books before talking about how important barometric pressure is to ice fishing. Where I ice fish we don't have a barometer so I never bothered remembering whether it was high or low pressure that was better, but I'm sure you can find it with a bit of searching.
