Hey me again, there r supposed to be some storms this weekend with temps in the 70s. will that affect largemouth bass fishing? if so, should i use soft plastics or hard plastics? what kind? im stumped. (and im trying to outfish my dad and win $50...he is using live bait)

See the previous answers. I assume your father prefers to eat bass than release them.

Spinner baits work well this time of year. You can fish them as deep or as shallow as you want. It will be hard to beat live bait, your advantage is you can cover more water with lures. Good luck. DSMbirddog, why would you assume because of live bait that the bass are being kept? I have caught many bass on minnows when I was fishing for crappie and released them with no harm done.

Try a #120 or #140 Uncle Josh black worm Texas rigged. It is real pork and I have had very good results.

Because my experience is that bass tend to take live bait deeply resulting in a higher mortality than common panfish taken with live bait.

Actually I'm not against eating bass at all.

I do not think there is anything that is better than live bait...but then again, I too have a lot to learn about fishing.

My target fish is catfish tho, not bass.
