What type of fins do you use for a float tube? I've heard some people say that the ones for diving/snorkeling are the best, others say only use float tube fins? I'm looking for something both cheap, and effective.

I was curious about your question, so I looked up a site that sells float tube fins. The difference that I saw is that some float tube fins have straps over the feet and around the ankle. I imagine those straps are there to keep the fins from falling off and attaching them to your boots/feet. No noticeable difference in the fins except for the way they attach to your feet. Price is on par with either type of fin.
If, you go with the swim fin style I would add a safety strap that attaches to the fin and then around your lower leg/ankle. That way if the swim fins fall off you don't loose them.
