While I've never fished in Minnesota, walleye tactics for summer fishing usually are pretty much the same throughout the walleyes range.During the dog days of summer walleye move into deeper, cooler waters.I would use your depthfinder and search for underwater humps in 15-45 feet(or deeper)of water. After dark and or cloudy overcast days are best for summer time walleye.I would start by vertical jigging with live bait(minnows, leeches) or soft plastics on 1/8-1/2 oz jigheads over fish marked by your sonar. If the fish arent holding to structure, try trolling 2"-4" deep diving crankbaits and minnow style lures.Vary your trolling speeds until you start connecting with fish.Good luck and good fishing.
