I am planning on going sturgen fishing at the docks in St. Helens on the columbia river this weekend what bait should i use? What size waits should i use with 25lb test line and a 40lb test leader? And if your are from around here, where is the nearest place that i can find sturgen hooks since wal mart doesnt have any?

It depend on the current, fast current require more lead to keep the bait down,If it's not on the bottom your not fishing.

In Wahington state it is legal to use trout. That is the best bait. Otherwise a chuck of sucker or other nongame fish will work. Hooks don't have to be too huge with the weight of line you're using. Circle hooks work best. Be sure to use a setup like a sliding weight so if you break off, the fish doesn't have to drag weights around.
