take either a solutin called deep creep and spray it till its soaked, and scrubb it out with steel wool, you could also use diesel fuel, i dont no what to do for your bait tho.

Don't you think those would leave a residue or smell on the bait?

To get rust stains out, use phosphoric acid (Ospho or Phospho) available at the hardware store. Just be sure to rinse everything off well after the stain is gone. For heavier rust, follow the directions on the bottle---it's great stuff. It is also sold under the name Naval Jelly.

First thing I'd do is take the split rings and trebles off and replace them.Clean the crankbait body with a rag and a little mineral oil.

I got some rust in my tackel box. Anyone have any suggestions on how to clean it out of the tackel box and more importatly how to clean it off some crank baits? The colors haven't been messed up to bad, but I don't want the crank baits smelling like rust.
