In a few weeks I'm going ice fishing. I am going with some experianced fishermen. As this is my first time ice-fishing does anyone know what would be the best lures/bait to use? also what pound test should I use, I was thinking 8 or 10

Its pickeral..and 2 to 6Lbs test is plenty..i have 4Lbs test on my rig and have landed many 3 and 4lbs northerns..a swedish pimple is good time tested lure also most any small jig will due..i found colors dont seem to matter much through the ice.. i use mostly pink purple and chartruese..the most common jigs can be found in the pre made kits.. as far as bait waxies,crappie minnows,for perch and bass and shiners and small suckers for pike..in a nut shell its about size and presentation.. i hope this was helpful to you

Thanks a lot, like i said this is my first time ice fishing and only like the 3rd time on a lake. My cabin is right on a creek and we get plenty of trout out of there, but this is a different " ball game"
