I grew up in KS and fished mainly farm ponds and we always used chicken liver, or shad sides. If you use shad sides make sure you have some rubber gloves because they STINK!!

I fish for channel's in a river mostly.I live in the Mid-West.I usually just use a nightcrawler, minnow or chicken liver and fish on bottom. When snagging an 8-10 pounder and the fish trys to go downstream it feels like a 25 pounder.
